I would boil and cool then use that water to mix and warm each bottle when ready to drink. If you have warm formula you need to drink it in 2 hours not store it away. Hope this helps

Good question! You can heat with the nipple and collar on but not with the internal vent system in place. The heat can cause milk to travel up the vent. Thanks for your question!

On the warmer it says to use distilled water

I can’t tell why either is necessary. Why not just use tap. The baby isn’t drinking it or coming into contact with it in anyway regardless.

You use distilled water to avoid sediment in the warmer. Just like it’s suggested for steam irons.

@@rayvenhenry1908 no. Canadian health guidelines for formula is different. You can't premix it and put it in the fridge. You mix it when you need it and then you need to throw away what's not used after an hour.

@@natashatsapoitis4396 those guide lines are mostly to prevent that parents leave milk in the fridge forever. I'm from Germany and I pre mix formula and instead of 24 hours I keep a 12 hour limit for myself. I mix it in the morning then heat it up when I need it. It basically works the same as buying pre-made formula. I asked my doctor about it and he said it was perfectly safe. If you are uncomfortable or don't feel safe you can always talk to a doctor or midwife about it. Milk that has been in a bottle that the little one drank out of I do throw away when he's done.

Keep an open mind. This is needed not only to reduce bubbles, which is so important for baby's comfort, but also for working moms who need to pre-prep bottles for the nanny or any other child care giver while the baby's parents are away at work. There's a reason why formula can be refrigerated and good for up to 24 hours even if your circumstances don't force you to experience those reasons.

I thought the same thing, however, it's great when transitioning into solid food and different amounts are needed at different times. Ie 3 oz with food, 5oz between meals. This way I don't waste formula bc I miscalculated. I'm keeping ours in the fridge so I can pour as needed. It takes up much less room in my fridge. I put the empty bottles together minus lid and nipple so I pretty much pull out a bottle, pour and give it. It's also less time consuming. Instead of prepping bottles the night before, I fill the pitchure and go to bed.

I know this is four years too late but you normally would place the ring right below where the water line is depending on how much formula you are mixing at a time so that the mixer does not go above the water line and add air (bubbles) to the formula
